About Jessica Ketcham
I’m passionate about understanding how and why people use technology-the patterns and the hiccups- and how content shapes those interactions. Through content design, user research, and a whole lot of energy dedicated to diving into a problem, I work with teams to create more inclusive and intuitive experiences. In the last five years, I\'ve focused on improving designed systems to reduce overwhelm in vulnerable folks such as first-generation college students, newly diagnosed patients with chronic illness, screen-weary employees, and people who are part of under-resourced communities or experiencing intersectional oppression. I\'m as comfortable with ambiguity as with a tight deadline and thrive when I work on projects that require both deep listening and ideation as well as effective and strategic communication. Skilled in stakeholder buy-in and cross-functional team communication, I\'m at ease in a three-ring circus and draw energy from managing multiple complex projects at once. For more than a decade, I\'ve used a wide range of qualitative methods at different research and product stages to surface insights that solve for more meaningful user experiences. For two decades, I\'ve researched and taught the impact of framing and content on people\'s lived experiences and on institutional decision-making practices, which has directly informed my content strategy and design work in higher ed and healthcare products.
