ABOUT JESSICAH PIERRE

Jessicah Pierre is a seasoned public relations professional, storyteller, and advocate with over 10 years of experience in communications, community-building, and social justice. Currently serving as the Chief Communications Officer for the City of Boston, Jessicah was appointed by Mayor Michelle Wu in December 2021 to lead communications strategy for the mayor and her cabinet. In this role, she provides direct communications counsel to Mayor Wu and senior leadership while shaping the city’s public messaging. Known as the \"People’s Publicist,\" Jessicah previously founded and led J. Pierre Communications (JPC), a public relations agency dedicated to advancing the work of political leaders, nonprofits, small businesses, and media organizations. As the Principal Publicist and Business Strategist, she built a strong reputation for delivering high-impact media strategy, brand-building, and creative messaging campaigns that amplified the voices of underrepresented communities. Before founding JPC, Jessicah worked with local nonprofits, political organizations, and advocacy groups to elevate their public profiles through media relations, community engagement, and strategic communications. She also served as a columnist for the Dorchester Reporter, focusing on issues impacting Black communities, and ran a political blog designed to educate and inspire young people to become civically engaged. A passionate community builder, Jessicah also founded Queens Company, an organization aimed at empowering women of color professionals and entrepreneurs through networking and mentorship. Outside of her professional work, Jessicah mentors youth, speaks on panels, and creates opportunities for others to succeed. Jessicah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a proud graduate of Brighton High School, Class of 2009.
