Yoga Minded by Jess is my current integrative mind-body therapy business based in New York (virtual/in-person sessions available). I engage with medical and/or other healthcare professionals and use best-practice referral/feedback processes to optimize client health and well-being outcomes. My role as an integrative therapist is to support and educate clients through therapeutic practices that increase physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health.RESPONSIBILITES1. Set SMART short-term and long-term goals with each client to focus therapeutic sessions2. Assess the musculoskeletal system, respiratory system/habits, and mental/emotional health of each client and maintain health records3. Create a personalized therapeutic plan that considers the client\'s needs, lifestyle, physical limitations, chronic health conditions, medications, goals, and life circumstances 4. Apply somatic experiencing practices to support client in increasing body awareness, breath awareness, nervous system regulation, and emotional coping skills5. Teach evidence-informed practices that may involve the use of physical postures/somatic exercises, breathing practices, meditation/relaxation, mindfulness, imagery, yoga nidra, & other integrative toolsACHIEVEMENTS-Completed a Master\'s of Science in Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2023, was awarded the title of C-IAYT (Certified Yoga Therapist through International Association of Yoga Therapists), & earned 500 hours as a registered yoga teacher-Built and grew my private practice caseload from 1 to 7 clients in the first two months of opening by implementing a strategic social media strategy and collaborating with other therapists to acquire clients-Selected out of a pool of about 30 students to partner with a group of published researchers to write a research paper that will be published in several medical journals by the end of 2024 as a result of demonstrated leadership skills.
