About Jessica Yi

I chose consulting for the same reason most college grads do-because I didn\'t know what I wanted to do yet, but I wanted to be \"successful.\" In my four years at Deloitte Consulting, I produced hundreds of PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets, helped large Fortune 500 companies merge into larger but more efficient ones, and navigated clients through the challenges of making drastic business model shifts. But I felt the most motivated and fulfilled when I was using the skills I had honed on the job to help small but ambitious nonprofits develop more effective tools, processes, and strategies to expand their scopes of impact. So I went to business school to further explore the intersection of business and social change. I strongly believe in a more sustainable and equitable way to do business, and that the power of capitalism can be harnessed to drive social change. I spent my MBA researching and crafting a triple bottom line brand for a growing generation of conscious consumers. It was the entrepreneurial ride of a lifetime that took me to incredible highs and lows and even to the continent of Africa (twice!). I learned so much-about how far I could go beyond my comfort zone, how hard it is to actually be sustainable, the type of impact I want to have, and how much I still have to learn from and contribute to existing social impact work. I took 2020 to slow down, learn, and recharge. Now, I am excited to continue using my skills and experience to support global poverty alleviation in my role at World Vision.
