About Jessica Burns

Hi! I’m Jessica. Originally from California, I’m a former preschool teacher and nanny who thought she wanted a big fancy job in Corporate America. I moved to Texas for that fancy job, where I did recruiting and career coaching for a Fortune 50 company. During my corporate experience I often asked my clients this crucial question: When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I realized something life-altering about myself. I was grown-up but I wasn’t doing anything close to what my inner-child wanted to do (be a teacher!). I believe in staying true to your values and following your dreams…so, I took a deep breath and I quit my job. I wake up every morning knowing I made the correct decision. That leads me to today. I am now pursuing my life-long passion of bettering the lives of children. I have 10+ years of childcare experience, including special needs, and after a life-altering corporate work experience have come to realize that my life is meant to remain dedicated to children. I believe my unique education and experience in child-development, sociology, nutrition, and business gives me the patience, passion, and knowledge to excel in my career as an educator. My goal as an educator and childcare provider is to ensure that ALL children receive the care and education they need to thrive. I am constantly seeking opportunities to increase my knowledge, experience, and education while truly making a difference in the lives of our most important residents; our children.
