About Jessica Zander

Passion. Passion took me to music school where I cultivated an unrelenting quest for excellence. A basketball player who makes 90% of his shots is a superstar, but a musician who plays 90% of the right notes is booed off the stage. One of my favorite professors was fond of saying, “always be pleased, but never satisfied.” While perhaps not inherent to a traditional music program, my Commercial Music degree included nearly 20 credit hours in business management which taught me another term for this pursuit of continuous improvement, kaizen. My college professor was referring to concert performance, but I try to apply it in every area of my life. I love to learn and can often be found with my nose in a book. I never back down from a challenge whether it’s playing on a stage with Kansas in front of thousands of people, moving to a foreign country without a firm grasp on the language, or hiring 300 people in the middle of a pandemic. Growth happens outside your comfort zone, and I believe the biggest predictor of success, is your belief that you will achieve it. After graduation people became my passion. I love getting to know and serving the employees I work with. Humans are the most important part of human resources, and it’s the little things like knowing each employee’s name that often make the biggest difference. When I’m not in the office I enjoy fishing, traveling, or curling up with a good book.
