ABOUT JESSICA ZAKI
Jessica Zaki is a J.D. candidate at California Western School of Law, where she is currently in her second year. She earned her B.A. in Sociology with a Public Law Certificate from San Diego State University and an A.A. in Sociology from Saddleback College, where she also completed the Honors Program. At SDSU, she was active in the Pre-Law Society and also made the Dean’s List.Jessica is a first-generation Egyptian American and a first-generation law student with a strong interest in advocacy. She’s as a semi-finalist in California Western’s Conte Cup Opening Statement Competition and went on to join the Trial Team after being personally invited and selected once completing the Trial Team Bootcamp Course. In her first competition representing Cal Western, she and her team won 2nd place at the UCLA Premiere Cup Tournament, and CWSL was ranked 19th in the Gavel Rankings for the first time since the Competitive Advocacy Program’s creation. In her second competition she and her team were Regional Finalists at the American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC). Before law school, she was the Opening Attorney on SDSU’s Mock Trial Team. She also has an extensive background in theatre and the performing arts.Her legal experience includes working as a Student Records Clerk at the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office and as a Summer Law Clerk at Higgs Fletcher & Mack through the San Diego County Bar Association’s Diversity Fellowship Program by being selected as one of the 28 Fellows of 2025; and she is currently working with Hoffman & Forde, Attorneys at Law, APC. She also has a background in customer service, which has helped her develop adaptability, communication skills, and teamwork skills.At school, Jessica co-founded the Society for AI and the Law (SAIL) and she serves as the vice present. She also serves as the 2L Class Representative for both the Business Law Society and XONR8, the student chapter of the California Innocence Project. She has received an A+ in Legal Skills, and an A- in Trial Skills, is fluent in Egyptian Arabic and values the perspective her multicultural background brings to her work and the legal world.
