About Jessica Yang
I hold a Master of Public Health from Boston University, with a focus on community assessment, program design, evaluation, and mental health and substance use. I’m passionate about reducing barriers to care and committed to expanding access to mental health services for underserved and diverse populations.Alongside my work in healthcare research and crisis intervention, I have hands-on experience in sports media through my role at Fox Sports. My background as a former competitive volleyball player and current work in sports storytelling have fueled my interest in the mental and brain health of athletes.I’m especially interested in the intersection of sports, mental wellness, and brain health—and how media, advocacy, and evidence-based programs can be used to support athlete mental health and improve care delivery systems. My goal is to lead efforts that increase access to care, destigmatize mental health in athletics, and promote long-term well-being in and beyond sport.
