About Jessica Wade
I work at The World Bank Group, within Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and serve as Special Assistant/ Advisor to our Vice President for Finance, Risk, Economics, and Sustainability. Prior to that, I focused on Political Risk within anglophone Sub-Saharan Africa. Throughout my career I have focused on emerging markets, building on my academic background in international development. Before joining MIGA, I worked at Goldman Sachs Credit Risk Management in the Growth Markets team, covering corporates, financial institutions and sovereigns across Middle East, Africa and Central and Eastern Europe. While at Credit Suisse, I worked in the Credit Risk Management Department in the Leveraged Finance team, focusing on leveraged transactions in the industrials and natural resources sectors. At J.P. Morgan, I focused on emerging markets (Africa and Middle East) and while working in Japan, I covered large Japanese corporates and commercial banking clients. Before joining J.P. Morgan, I researched rural development in Sichuan, China, for my masters degree. I then\\ worked in Chennai, India, researching Indian small and medium enterprise (SME) finance. In the past I have volunteered with Bankers without Borders, working with a Kenyan microfinance organisation. I am passionate about improving the work environment for female employees, and have served as EMEA Treasurer of the women\'s network at JPMorgan and the co-head of the Advancement Pillar for one of the women\'s networks at Goldman Sachs. More recently I served as a Diversity and Inclusion advocate at MIGA, focusing on promoting inclusive work practices and acknowledging industry leaders who promote gender diversity.
