Manage the operation of Miami Dade County’s Head Start/ Early Head Start’s Governance and Community Engagement services for the Head Start grantee and its delegates. Annually review and update the community engagement, parent committee, & Policy Council procedures for quality control. Work closely with management, center administrators, social service staff & other service areas on all recommended revisions and changes to such documents. Ensure the coordination and implementation of a formal structure of shared governance through which the parents can participate in policymaking or shared decision-making. Collaborate with Policy Council Executive Committee as they review and/or amend required documents for approval as per the Head Start Performance Standards and Head Start Act. Annually conduct and facilitate leadership training and orientation to parents and provide technical assistance to the Executive Committee and Policy Council. Lead different annual events to support program goals such as Daddy & Me, Summer Safety Splash, Head Start Awareness Resource Fair.Conduct training training and technical assistance on governance policies, procedures, and compliance requirements according to the national Head Start Act and Program Performance Standards.Establish, maintain, and track community partnership MOUs and agreements. Foster relationships with partners.Provide annual reports and other information to support the process for an annual internal review. Provide monthly updates and status reports on all Parent Committees, Policy Committees, events, trainings, & other opportunities for families to the Head Start Administration and Management. Oversee the coordination and implementation of Parliamentary Procedures using Robert’s Rules of Order in Policy Council/Committee and Parent Committees. Develop meeting agendas and write meeting minutes for Policy Council meetings. Track in-kind hours from meetings via Child Plus portal.
