ABOUT JESSICA TONEY

I always excelled in math, always thought I’d be doing something with math, but I also always struggled to find the point (don’t yell at me, mathematicians, but I was lost). Then, I discovered statistics – receiving mere lists of numbers and making sense of it, coming to conclusions for research studies that make an impact. Does the new training regimen benefit the IU Football team? What variables contribute to dung beetles’ likelihood to win a fight? What is the climate surrounding sexual assault on campus? These are questions I was able to answer with statistical analysis, and while some may not seem as impactful (looking at you, dung beetles), they all were able to provide answers to an extensive research process that did matter to people.This is what initially drew me to Qualtrics. I mean, it’s a “survey company.” They’ve got to value the impact of data and its derived conclusions. Starting as a Product Specialist, I learned the product back and forth, and got to experience just how our clients were using our platform. From cancer research to preventing bullying, our software was being used to make a difference.After a year directly helping our clients, I transferred to Sales Operations where our internal sales reps became my new “customer.” I started working again with what I love: numbers. I was a member of our Business Intelligence team, helping our reps monitor their progress and excel through analysis and reporting. I grew tremendously in this role. Both technically - I learned Tableau and SQL on the job and was Desktop Certified and a 4k-employee company\'s Tableau Admin in the first two years - and professionally - I operated as Team Lead my final year as well as leading an SKO team and a DEI department initiative.Then, I discovered I could incorporate another love of mine in my work: Travel. I started working at HireVue, where they support me traveling full-time as I work remotely. I now bounce from place to place each month, discovering the US, and hopefully eventually the world, as I simultaneously support an entire company in their data needs. While I\'ve specialized in supporting CS, and now Marketing, I\'ve fulfilled requests for every department. I also had the privilege of being selected for a working group to refresh our values, and let\'s just say I\'m really living our value of Enjoy the Journey!
