ABOUT JESSICA TAPPAN

MY PRACTICEI am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and a Registered Play Therapist with extensive experience helping and supporting adults, children, adolescents, and families. I care deeply about the people I work with and offer a personable and warm approach to psychotherapy. I center our work on building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel at ease, and seen for who they really are, without fear of judgement or rejection. I understand that no two people are the same, and I tailor our sessions to address challenges that are unique to you.I use an integrative relational and attachment based approach and draw on a wide variety of modalities to tailor a treatment plan that fits your needs. I have advanced clinical post graduate training from The Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and I am trained in evidence based therapies including Insight Oriented Therapy and Play Therapy. Additionally, I am a nationally certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT), a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and I have received a certificate in the Creative Arts Therapies. I have worked in both Outpatient Mental Health Clinics and Hospital Settings, as well as in Elementary and High Schools as a Clinical School Social Worker. But most importantly, I am a warm, empathic, and non judgmental person who will be committed to working alongside you to help you meet your goals.PRACTICE PATHAfter working at mental health agencies, hospitals, and schools I knew I loved the mental health profession, but I wanted to have more flexibility to provide clinical services in a way that worked best for my clients. I always dreamed of starting my own private practice, but it seemed too difficult and I didn’t know where to begin. After spending hours researching how to start, I finally launched my practice. It turned out to be the best professional decision I’ve ever made. I started sharing what I learned with my colleagues, who decided to take the leap, and now also have their own successful practices.Let us help you start your own therapy practice to control your own schedule and boost your earning potential.SESHNOTEThe shortcut to better progress notes.
