ABOUT JESSICA STRONG
With a PhD in Social Work and over 15 years of experience in non-profits and universities, I am the Senior Director of Applied Research at Blue Star Families, the largest and most influential national network of military families in the US. I lead a team of researchers and analysts who conduct and disseminate research on the challenges and opportunities of military family life, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. My mission is to use research as a tool to inform policy, practice, and advocacy for military families and to empower them to thrive in the civilian society. I have co-authored multiple publications, book chapters, and reports on topics such as military spouse employment, mental health, family resilience, and social support. I have also planned and hosted events and webinars to share our findings and recommendations with various stakeholders, including policymakers, service providers, and military leaders. I am passionate about public speaking and engaging with diverse audiences to raise awareness and generate solutions for military families.
