ABOUT JESSICA RODGERS

I am dedicated to a compassionate and mindful leadership. With a commitment to serving diverse learning communities I believe in leading a school where all children have the opportunity to be agents of their own learning and capable of achieving their fullest potential. Over my 20 year career as an educator I have built strong relationships with staff, students and families by proudly serving as literacy specialist, Curriculum Coordinator, RTI and IST Coordinator and Assistant Principal. Most recently my interests in self-care led me to develop a mindful curriculum to support teachers and students through a series of meditation, self reflection and goal setting. Students and teachers follow their PATH, a mindful curriculum focused around positive reflection, affirmations, and gratitude to promote teacher well being.I support mental health programs in social emotional learning and trauma informed instruction; I believe teaching mindfulness and stress reducing techniques like meditation and yoga can improve well being and increase learning. I was interviewed by District Administration magazine which proudly highlighted our accomplishments with my work in PBIS/DASA programs. I believe in developing strong community partnerships for students. I developed a summer program, HOPE Learning Center for children focusing on literacy and math skills to promote ‘summer gain’. I secured funds from financial institutions to purchase 50 Chromebooks providing high quality reading and math instruction to prevent summer slide.
