Develop and validate analytical methods for detecting food contaminants and pathogens. Evaluate the effects of chemical components on Salmonella enterica growth, survival, and inactivation on food surfaces. Analyze experimental data and contribute to the writing of research grant proposals. Lead both applied and basic research projects, manage laboratory activities, and coordinate team efforts. Conduct interdisciplinary research integrating food safety, analytical chemistry, and food systems. Author or co-author of six peer-reviewed manuscripts currently under review or in preparation. Mentor four graduate students in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing. Collaborate with faculty from Horticulture, Chemistry, Geosciences, and Food Science, as well as external research partners.
