Access various systems for schedule of cases and or load/transfer of scanned slides: Winsurg, EPIC and Cerner. Complies with end of month deadlines to account for department accuracy accounting, frozen sections/diagnosis queries reports, and QC\'s reports. • Embraced the title “super user” in EPIC trainings. Assisted in navigation with other users in guidance. Utilize all protocols we had in our old system (winsurge) to reflect into EPIC. Also, with billing charges protocols had to mimic from Winsurg to show on EPIC. Audits data integrity during implementation process with EPIC to facilitate our workflow.• Assist with nurses and peers in troubleshooting EPIC orders done incorrectly. Give guidance on how to properly input orders correctly into EPIC.• Perform cytology, bronchial, pleural, thyroid, pericardial fluids, CSF’s, frozen sections and stat reads for the O.R and same day surgery. Stain PAP\'s for different types of cytology slides for radiologists and pathologists.• Communicate daily with Pathologist and team of Nurses regarding specimens. Inspect nurses’ specimens for patient identification and time in formalin. Specimen pick up and drop off.• Handles cleaning of frozen staining and Lecia staining machines at the end of shift. Take on call schedules Monday –Friday to assist with emergent specimens that need testing by prepping fresh or in formalin. • Attend to department needs and assist the main hospital of Memorial Region Hospital to cut, stain using automated machines (symphony) and load slides into IHC instruments (Ventana).
