ABOUT JESSICA GALLARDO
Jessica Gallardo is a distinguished graduate of St. Edward\'s University in Austin, Texas, where she triple majored in International Business, Marketing, and Global Languages and Cultural Studies with a concentration in German and Spanish and a data analysis certificate. Her latest research project analyzes the relationship between Sino-American FDI flows in African nations and voting behavior alignment with investor countries in the United Nations Voting Assembly. This academic year, Jessica has presented her findings at undergraduate research conferences and symposiums across the U.S, including Harvard\'s National Collegiate Research Conference and the Midwest Political Science Association\'s Conference in Chicago. Jessica has spent extensive time in Germany through distinguished exchange programs, such as the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program, the German American Partnership Program, and the Goethe Institute\'s Study Bridge intensive language summer program. In the spring of 2024, Jessica was presented with two opportunities to continue her academic work during the Summer 2024. She was awarded the prestigious Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study Portuguese in Rio de Janeiro that summer as well as the MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP), ultimately deciding to pursue the latter. In addition to her academic work, Jessica underwent an international marketing internship at the Texas Department of Agriculture\'s Trade and Business Development Office, where she combined her knowledge of global markets to effectively assist the international team’s impact. Jessica also took part in social media marketing operations for the World Affairs Council of Austin last year. This allowed her to attend events such as the annual Texas-EU Business Summit and to meet diplomats from France, Ireland, the Czech Republic, and many others. Furthermore, for the last three years, Jessica has qualified on the international level at business competitions in events such as the Emerging Technologies Marketing Strategies and Professional Sales at the annual International Collegiate DECA Career Development Conferences.
