Auditor Jessica E. Miranda is a lifelong Ohioan dedicated to transparency, efficiency, and economic opportunity for Hamilton County families. As Hamilton County Auditor, Jessica works every day to make government more accountable and accessible. Her leadership builds on her tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives, where she proudly served the 28th District and rose to Democratic Whip, helping guide key legislative efforts.Jessica’s journey is shaped by resilience. As a survivor of child sexual abuse and rape, she courageously shared her story to raise awareness and champion legislation to protect survivors. In the Ohio House, she led the fight for fair school funding, common sense gun safety laws, student mental health initiatives, and increased funding for local governments.She passed significant legislation benefiting survivors of Boy Scout abuse and eliminated Ohio’s spousal rape exemption through House Bill 161, ensuring all victims of sexual violence receive justice. Jessica also passed bipartisan laws honoring fallen officer Kaia L. Grant, raising awareness of veteran suicide, and expanding religious accommodations on Ohio college campuses.A proud graduate of public schools and a current small business owner, Jessica understands the challenges families and entrepreneurs face. Her private-sector experience as an award-winning Licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker and IRS-certified professional informs her commitment to economic development and reducing barriers for businesses, while advancing equity and inclusion.Jessica’s public service has earned widespread recognition, including the Forest Park Business Recognition Award, Winton Woods City Schools Community Spirit Award, Ohio School Counselor Association Advocate of the Year, Cincinnati Business Courier’s 40 Under 40, and Groundwork Ohio’s Early Childhood Champion Award. In 2024, she was honored with the Ohio Federation of Teachers’ Friend of Public Education Award and the NSVRC Visionary Voice Award for her advocacy in the anti-sexual violence movement.As past President of the Winton Woods City School Board, Jessica improved curriculum standards and implemented full-day preschool and kindergarten programs. Under her leadership, the district became one of only two in the nation to adopt Project and Problem Based Learning across all grades.Jessica and her husband, Jose, are proud parents of three daughters. They are dedicated entrepreneurs in the City of Forest Park, committed to building a stronger, more equitable community for everyone.
