ABOUT JESSICA LIEBERMAN
For over 20 years, I have been guided by the belief that individuals together have the power to change the world. In my professional and volunteer work, I built new schools, led change management at the U.S. State Department, and researched human rights networks. After an exciting and rewarding detour into public and global citizenship education, I\'m back at State, leading an ambitious cultural change initiative to infuse the Department with a data-driven, evidence-based learning culture. What drew me to evaluation while overseeing foreign assistance grants was the possibility to assess what works and craft new approaches when programs fail. I also learned that the anecdotes, so crucial for storytelling, can also be dangerous, if one compelling narrative masks truth that data and research could uncover. At my core, I am driven by advancing structural change. What really gives me energy is working with smart people to change paradigms and build more inclusive equitable and just systems.
