About Jessie Killian
I am a single-molecule biophysicist and an instrument architect with a diverse background, a broad skillset, and a proven history of identifying and implementing creative solutions to challenging, interdisciplinary problems. My doctoral research at Cornell University involved integrating optics, molecular biology, fluidics, hardware, and software in order to design, build from scratch, and ultimately patent a novel optical trapping instrument that achieved unprecedented precision in dynamic measurements of single DNA molecules. My research interests lie primarily in the instrument development and devices side of biotechnology, where physics, biology, chemistry, and nanotechnology intersect with the potential for revolutionary technologies that can improve the lives of humans.
