Educational Outreach Coordinator for the Nanotechnology CollaborativeInfrastructure Southwest (NCI-Southwest) program in the School of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering. The program is a node within the country-wide network of the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI). As the Educational Outreach Coordinator, I contribute to the efforts to sustain and grow the role of the NCI-Southwest as the southwestern US hub of the NNCI. These functions include planning, organizing, and coordinating activities for the program. Responsibilities include managing the NCI-Southwest\'s Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) and Research Experience for Teachers (RET) programs; preparing and circulating quarterly newsletters; coordinating with Community Colleges to develop and facilitate hands-on training and lab experiences at ASU and/or NAU that pertain to the curriculum for nanotechnology workforce training offered by the CCs; and collaborating with industry and other technology/education organizations (e.g, NIIT, MNT-EC) to coordinate the leveraging of capabilities at NNCI nodes towards the development of a technician workforce trained in various aspects of nanotechnology.
