ABOUT JESSICA GOUGH

I received my Bachelor of Arts Honors Specialization in Kinesiology from Western University in 2014 and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Western University in 2017. I am registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and am an active member with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. I have over 6 years of experience working as a community-based occupational therapist in private practice assessing and treating those who have sustained serious injuries affecting their musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological systems and complex mental health conditions.I feel privileged to work in a person-centered health care profession that focuses on occupational engagement as a pathway to health/recovery. Witnessing the positive impact meaningful activity participation has on my client’s physical, mental and psychological wellbeing and overall quality of life is one of my favourite aspects of the role.I am detail-oriented, love to solve problems and feel that effective communication and collaboration is foundational to optimizing client outcomes. I am committed to implementing an evidence-informed approach with my clients which involves ongoing continuing education. I am a certified Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP) provider, a Certified BrainFx Administrator (CBA) and am trained to complete Job Demand Analyses. I have participated in various courses and workshops to further my learning in acquired brain injury, post-concussion syndrome, chronic pain, workplace ergonomics, exposure therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.
