Ensure that the Library Media Program is aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of theinstitution, Bedford High School.Enact policies and procedures that create an environment conducive to reading and quiet study,while allocating space for active learning, research, and collaboration.Maintain a balanced, relevant, focused collection of materials in all formats that supports andenhances a changing curricula and meets the interests and needs of students and staff.Promote and engage in collaborative planning, development of curricula with faculty members and departments.Through resource-based instruction, provide students and staff access and links to informationand materials within and outside of the BHS Library.Maintain active membership in those state and local library networks that provide valuableresources to the school community.Support the use of instructional technology and remain current with library technologyapplications.Instruct students and staff in the ethical use of information and materials, providing guidelinesand materials for their successful compliance with bibliographic rules and styles.Encourage creativity, independent inquiry, and a love of reading.Continue one\'s professional education through study, attendance at workshops andconferences, and involvement in professional organizations. Currently an Executive Board member of the NH School Library Media Association.Supervise paraprofessional staff, volunteers, and student workers.Participate in the community life of the school and meet faculty obligations.
