About Jessica Curran
Dr. Jessica Curran is a Clinical Manager of Outpatient Therapy and a Physical Therapist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago). She manages two outpatient therapy clinics that focus in orthopedic and sports-based therapy. One clinic is SRAlab\'s largest outpatient clinic, our flagship location, at 355 E. Erie Street on the South side of the 15th floor. The second clinic is located at 541 N. Fairbanks and is a collaboration with Adaptive Sports and Functional Fitness teams. Jessica leads a team of ~50 Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Business Support Managers, Assistant Coordinators, and a rehabilitation technician. She is grateful to be a part of a highly driven team that is focused on advancing quality patient experiences and ensuring evidence-based practice.Jessica is passionate about outpatient orthopedic and sports-based therapy care, preventative care, performance-based medicine, working with adaptive athletes, artificial intelligence in health care, international medical collaborations, teaching in Doctor of Physical Therapy programs, mentoring in Orthopedic Residencies. She strongly believes in promoting fitness and wellness to all- no matter how you participate or play a sport. Everyone should have opportunities for fitness that they enjoy to thrive in the life they want to live. Knowledge is power. Education is the key to empowering patients to return to wellness and stay well. Prior to becoming Clinical Manager she practiced full-time in the outpatient orthopedic setting at SRAlab treating a variety of orthopedic, sports, post-operative, geriatric and care for the cancer survivor. She has experience working with elite athletes including Major League Baseball, the U.S. Women\'s National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team, the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials and the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. She specializes in program development and has created a variety of creative and unique programs for patients and clinicians to create an exciting clinic environment. Previously, Jessica was full-time Clinical Faculty in the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy where she participated in patient care, teaching, research and clinical education. She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Orthopedic Section and Oncology Section. As an instructor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at USC, Dr. Curran taught Clinical Management of the Patient with Musculoskeletal Dysfunction, a lecture and lab-based course.
