About Jessica Boehm

Jessica is a lifelong Arizonan who has expertly reported on the good, the bad and the complicated in her home state for the past decade. A 2015 BA/MMC graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Jessica was hired by The Arizona Republic straight out of college and spent seven years covering critical issues ranging from union political influence to an international adoption scheme. While at The Republic, she earned an Arizona Community Foundation grant and became the state\'s first homelessness and housing reporter. She investigated illegal evictions, spent a year documenting a chronically homeless woman\'s attempts at getting off the street, and exposed controversial police interactions with unhoused people, which led to the U.S. Department of Justice\'s first-ever investigation into the treatment of homeless individuals.In 2022, she joined Axios to launch the company\'s daily Phoenix newsletter. Within three years, she\'s grown the audience to more than loyal subscribers. She covers politics, immigration, business, housing, education and other topics with local and national interest.When she\'s not working, you\'ll find her doting on her daughter and rescue dog, Leia.
