On a volunteer basis I work as a chef instructor for the Share Our Strength: No Kid Hungry Campaign. Specifically, I work under the Cooking Matters program. In this role I work with low income children, families, and adults; to spread awareness of proper cooking techniques and proper nutritional information. This is a hands on role in which I provide demonstrations of cooking basics, as well as answer questions, and provide insight into food past the classroom and it\'s real life applications in order to promote healthier eating habits and behaviors. This role follows a curriculum which encompasses lessons on meal planning, how to navigate a grocery store, making smarter choices in everyday situations as well as a general understanding and comfort level with food and nutrition.
