ABOUT JESSI GILCHRIST
PhD Candidate, War Studies at King’s College London Associate Fellow, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Doctoral Fellow, Ax:son Johnson Institute for Statecraft and Diplomacy Doctoral Fellow, Society for Intelligence History I am widely interested in issues related to border security, the history of empire, and intelligence studies. As a former Analyst in the Geopolitics and National Security Learning Program at the Canada School of Public Service, I am always looking for ways to bridge academic and policymaking communities by exploring how history can enhance our understanding of the present and plans for the Founder & Coordinator, King’s Trauma-Centred Study Group I am passionate about exploring trauma-informed practices and methods in order to make work on very urgent topics - war, violence, terrorism, reconstruction - more sustainable for researchers. To this end, I launched the King\'s Trauma-Centred Study Group in autumn 2023 to bring together PGRs, ECRs, alumni, and faculty from across King\'s College London as well as other London-based universities to explore trauma as both a tool of analysis within our research and a tool of self-reflection for ourselves as researchers.
