About Jess Gartner
Jess Gartner is the Group Vice President of Resource Planning and Talent solutions at PowerSchool where she is excited to continue her mission to build the future of K-12 finance solutions. Previously, Jess was the CEO and Founder of Allovue, an EdFinTech company that empowers K-12 educators to strategically and equitably allocate financial resources. In January 2024, Allovue was acquired by PowerSchool, where the team continues to support school districts across the nation in budgeting, managing, and evaluating spending for millions of students. Allovue has been credited with birthing the EdFinTech industry. Before founding Allovue, Jess studied education policy at the University of Pennsylvania. She has taught in classrooms around the world, including Thailand, South Africa, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. She taught middle school humanities in Baltimore City and received her M.A. in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University. She currently serves on the Board of Education Week.Beyond work, Jess can be found singing show tunes, stretching out at the nearest yoga studio, and exploring the world, especially around her new home in Seattle.
