ABOUT JESSE HITCHCOCK
With an MSc in Environmental Science and nearly 10 years of experience, I advise utilities on decarbonization, sustainable transportation, energy efficiency, and regulatory innovation. I’m passionate about leveraging low-carbon policy and technology to achieve our climate goals. The next several decades of transition in our energy ecosystem will require leadership and dedication, and I\'ve built my career to rise to that challenge. My work has spanned both public and private sectors. Some highlights include energy efficiency program design and engagement for a demand-side management (DSM) program administrator, leveraging federal funding to stand-up a province-wide DC fast charging (DCFC) network, leading policy strategy and managing utility relationships at a climate tech start-up focused on deep energy retrofits, and delivering responsive research and thought leadership to utility clients at a large research and advisory firm. My current client work focuses on regulatory innovation that can enable decarbonization and distributed energy resource (DER) deployment, leveraging my Benefit-Cost Analysis Certification from the National Energy Screening Project. My expertise in clean transportation includes EV managed charging, program design/evaluation, and public transportation. Outside of work, I prioritize engaging in my community! I have served on municipal advisory committees, NGO boards, and founded a grassroots organization to engage youth in electoral politics. Fermentation enthusiast and proud dog parent.
