Drive operational improvements by defining aggressive process innovations, and application of lean principals and operational optimization projects in support of achieving the annual goals and objectives. Drives various quality improvement and cost reduction initiatives from identification through implementation while working with cross functional resources to ensure results are achieved in a timely manner.SPECIFIC DUTIES:Implement / support product, process and supply chain changes within the manufacturing environment related to quality improvement and operational optimization through the creation or modification of- Manage the effective deployment of materials to work centers using pull system principles and associated lean manufacturing strategies- Applying continuous improvement techniques and analytical tools such as; lean, Total Quality Management (TQM), and six sigma (DMAIC) to achieve improved business results- Review production schedules, work order, and current staff to determine personnel and materials requirements and priorities- Work with corporate material control to maintain all KPIs - Create/Update work instructions and manufacturing routers for all departments- Manufacturing Work Instructions and related documents - Fixtures, tooling, equipment and systemsIdentify, investigate and resolve manufacturing difficulties including, but not limited to- Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies - Apply highly quantitative methods to business/warehouse operations with the intent of optimizing total delivered cost and maximizing service levels - Throughput constraints and capacity management - Component or assembly substitution evaluations and approvals - Deviations and rework instructions - Act as shop liaison between Design Engineers and Production to ensure products are built to specifications and engineering drawings and or models.
