About Jesse Urbancsik

As a Senior City Planner for the City of Cincinnati, I coordinate and supervise subdivisions and zoning projects, working with developers, community leaders, and private home builders to efficiently assist them in the planning process. I additionally prepare and present monthly detailed reports to the City Planning Commission (and then City Council), covering real estate cases, zone changes/studies, large-scale residential planned developments, notwithstanding ordinances, and neighborhood plans. I have a Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from University of Cincinnati, where I learned the fundamentals of urban design, policy, analysis, management, and patience. Before joining the City of Cincinnati, I was a Development Officer/Planner at Colerain Township. I have strong skills in plan reviewing, emotional intelligence, customer service, community social skills, and data/mapping analysis. I am extremely passionate about creating and enhancing livable and sustainable communities, and I value collaboration, innovation, and diversity. I believe I bring a unique perspective and experience to the team, as I have worked with different stakeholders and sectors in the urban planning, development, and political fields. I am fascinated and passionate about: increasing density and housing supply, creating and branding microneighborhoods, pedestrian safety prioritization, commercial to residential conversions (mainly in downtown high rises and skyscrapers), eliminating parking requirements, urban green spaces in conjunction with residents\' mental well-beings, urban gentrification and its socioeconomic implications, the synergy of architecture and urban planning, the psychology of being a public servant, and the role of artificial intelligence in future urban planning (and nature, super-tall skyscrapers, roller coasters, and modern architecture).
