About Jesse Siegel
I’m a geotechnical engineer so I know a lot about dirt! I’ve always enjoyed the natural world and the outdoors. Through my daily work involving below-grade construction I’m able to connect my passion for the natural world with the complex engineering challenges of expanding in densely populated areas. Recently I’ve been working on downtown Boston real estate development. I help clients when they would like to dig deep holes in the ground (up to 70 feet deep) and design foundations for buildings up to 750 ft tall. I really like working in Boston because there are some many challenges to below-grade construction. Challenges I’ve addressed include small sites (each site seems to be smaller than the last), sensitive adjacent buildings (lab buildings, laser eye surgery, etc) and some of the adjacent building’s foundations, which are located above the bottom of our excavation. There are so many things to think about when it comes to geotechnical engineering and that is what makes every day different from the last. I can honestly say that I love what I do. When asked about what I like the most about working with Haley & Aldrich I always answer…the people I get to work with and the caliber of projects that I get to work on!
