ABOUT JESSE SCHOENGUT
Technical experience in Oil Sand geology (Clearwater Formation, McMurray Formation) and thermal recovery methods (SAGD and CSS), as well as in conventional EOR fields (Cardium) and unconventional reservoirs (Montney). Technical expert in Reservoir Characterization of clastic reservoirs- Exploration and development planning as a part of a multidisciplinary team including: regional and detailed facies and reservoir mapping, detailed core logging, petrophysics, and vertical and horizontal well planning (stratigraphic and production) and execution. To date, I have drilled 65 horizontal wells in a variety of Formations including the Cardium, Clearwater, McMurray, and Montney- Masters of Science from University of Alberta. Thesis focused on relating the sedimentological and ichnological variability exhibited in different geobodies from different estuarine environments, primarily at Willapa Bay, Washington. Gained experience in both modern and ancient environments, where I led multiple field excursions. Have led or co-led field trips to Willapa Bay for students and industry professionals- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated by multiple presentations at conventions, and teaching awards- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) designation with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
