ABOUT JESSE P.
Software engineer with roots in semiconductor manufacturing and a long focus on data engineering.I work daily across both cloud and on-prem environments. Airgap requirements are a regular part of the job, so fluency in both isn\'t optional. Most of my recent work centers on Snowflake, building pipelines from on-prem SQL sources using approaches like CDC. I know when to reach for off-the-shelf tooling and when to build something that fits the problem better.I work primarily in Java and Python on the backend, take a container-first approach, and have done extensive work with unstructured data loading. My broader stack includes dbt and Dagster. When someone comes to me with a vague data need, I work with them to understand what they\'re actually trying to learn from it, then build end to end: ingestion, transformation, and often the first set of models to make the data useful. On the infrastructure side I own my own infrastructure. I configure and admin my own Linux hosts, set up monitoring, evaluate, implement, or build DevOps solutions, and train my team on how to operate and maintain the systems we build.
