Serves as an Apprenticeship Counselor assisting and preparing transitioning service members who separate from the United States Military to begin a new life chapter as a civilian.• Ensures that activities such as marketing, monthly separation rosters, pre-separation, and pre-retirement briefings, client checklist of service providers, classes on resume writing, interviews techniques, and related topics, as appropriate, counseling of separation entitlements and referrals to service providers for further assistance, development and preparation of resumes and cover letters, guidance in job search techniques and effort, and job fairs. Reports activities and statistics to the Department of Labor.• Connected over 1,200 transitioning service members with civilian employment opportunities and counselstransitioning service members and their spouses on benefits and entitlements as well as programs available toease their transition into civilian endeavors.• Possess vast knowledge in a wide variety of military personnel areas such as Transition processing and military benefits available on retirement or separation, identification cards, medical and dental benefits, commissary, exchange, morale and welfare facilities, post-service insurance, and educational benefits for soldiers and family members. Experienced and knowledgeable about veterans\' benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs for veterans and family members.• Provides services designed to maximize Soldier, Retiree, Family, Survivor and Civilian adaptability, promote self-reliance, and Readiness.• Provides services to include client intake, information & referral, crisis intervention, life skills, and transition services.• Serves as the installation liaison with on and off post agencies in support of leveraging partnerships. Uses self-assessment, community assessment and various measurement tools to identify trends, organizational needs and Army and unit demographic profiles.
