About Jesse Cureton

Jesse Cureton is currently the acting President and CEO of Queens University of Charlotte. He previously served as Chair of the board of Trustees. He is also an Independent Corporate Director who currently holds the position of Trustee for Home Trust Bancshares, Inc. and serves on the Audit and Compensation Comittee. Additionally, he is a member of the NASDAQ Innovation Council for Board Governance and is affiliated with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).Previously, Jesse served as the Chief Consumer Officer and Executive Vice President at Novant Health. A forward-thinking leader, he spearheaded the organization\'s rebranding initiative to unify the system. His leadership extended to various business areas, including payor contracting, marketing, public relations, community engagement, foundations and corporate health. Before joining Novant Health, Jesse enjoyed a distinguished career at Bank of America, headquartered in Charlotte, where he honed his leadership skills within complex, multi-faceted industries. Over his twenty-six years in the financial sector, he excelled in various national and regional executive roles, becoming well-versed in multiple disciplines.Jesse is guided by the belief that art, education, and financial literacy can change lives. A nationally respected leader and sought-after board member, he has served on various boards, including the Foundation for the Carolinas, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Charlotte Center City Partners, and chaired the University of Chapel Hill Board of Visitors. He was also the chairman of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance and board member of the Charlotte Leading on Opportunity Council, which focuses on addressing significant community challenges, such as investing in underserved neighborhoods and eliminating barriers to employment and healthcare. Currently, he is a member of the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council (CELC) and serves on the boards of Hooptee Charities, the Advisory Board for the Charlotte Knight Foundation, and the Mint Museum.Jesse earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Master of Business Administration as well as a Financial Planning Certificate from Queens University of Charlotte. He is also a graduate of executive programs at Harvard Business School and The Wharton School. Together with his wife, Angela—who has been actively engaged with local organizations such as the Junior League and Good Friends,are proud parents to three daughters.
