About Jessamyn Almenas-Garcia

I have been a registered dietitian for over 10 years where I have gained invaluable experience in nutrition counseling, nutrition support, malnutrition assessment and diagnosis. Through my journey in clinical dietetics thus far, I have had the opportunity to participate in research, electronic health record implementations, nutrient and menu analysis, community events and leading nutrition-focused physical exam trainings. I am also passionate about teaching nutrition to undergraduate students as they become our future healthcare professionals. I have experience teaching in both face-to-face and distance learning modalities using Canvas and Blackboard LMS. I love combining my love for food and nutrition with traveling experiences whenever I can. I have traveled to 20 countries (and counting!) and love to explore as well as share the food culture of each place I visit.
