About Jerymar Schmid
As Assistant Professor, I advocate for providing high-quality education, relevant, accessible, and affordable, with in-person and online programs that prepare students for service and leadership in a diverse, global society. Over the last four years, I’ve had the privilege to work as a college Professor at Midland College in the Energy Faculty; this has given me an understanding of the teaching system and helped me to develop new skills in teaching undergraduate level, preparing academic curriculum and instructional plans, and contribute to curriculum development for both in-person and online courses. My prior work experience in service companies in the oil and gas industry has been diverse. Still, all positions have held a common thread of emphasis on effective communication, both verbally and in writing, with the customer. As a Field Engineer in the drilling area, I was tasked with developing ideal and straightforward ways to convey complex concepts of drilling operations, remote operations, quality control, and HS & E. As a well placement engineer, I learned to adapt, analyze data, ask questions, listen, and understand customer requirements and goals.
