WORK HISTORY
Founder & Chief Tinkerer @Seventy-Nine Lines
La Mesa, CA, US
In the early days of iOS and Mac development, 79lines was my personal label for building and shipping thoughtful, useful, and occasionally quirky apps — from Mac Dashboard widgets to iPhone apps on iOS 1 (via Installer.app), and eventually the App Store. It wasn’t a startup. It was just me — building things, learning fast, and getting software into people’s hands.Highlights: • Dashbuster – started as a Mac widget for managing Blockbuster queues; became a day-one App Store app supporting both Netflix and Blockbuster • PegJump – a Cracker Barrel–style peg solitaire game that has quietly racked up millions of downloads and remains in the App Store to this day • Dozens of side projects and experiments focused on interface, constraint, and joy-of-useThis era shaped how I think about product: tight constraints, clean UX, and building with a direct connection to real users.

ABOUT JERRY JONES
Exploring what’s next in software, leadership, and AI after 15 years of building at scale- I’ve spent the last 15+ years building and leading engineering teams at the intersection of data, design, and scale. From mobile BI at Roambi, to platform evolution at ServiceNow, to navigating growth and change at Heap and Contentsquare. Most recently, I led StarLifter, an early-stage AI analytics company built on a simple belief: software should empower the people closest to the work — not slow them down. After an intense few years (and some personal changes that have reshaped my perspective), I’m taking time to reflect, write, and explore what’s next. The industry feels like much like the mobile wave of 2008. AI is transforming software, sometimes faster than it feels, sometimes slower than we expected — and I think the next decade will redefine how we build, lead, and create value.Currently, I’m focused on writing, advising, and exploring new ideas. If you’re working on something ambitious, need a sounding board for your engineering or product strategy, or just want to swap perspectives on where software is headed — let’s talk.
