Accomplished attorney, Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), data privacy, data protection, data governance, national security, investigations, legal technologist and compliance professional with 30+ years of expertise in legal, privacy, ethics, technology and eDiscovery. There are only 4 Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) concentrations and all have been attained (U.S, Europe, Asia and Canada). Instructor and speaker on data privacy and other subject matter. An experienced attorney (U.S. Department of Justice (FBI, Office of the General Counsel), civil litigation, General Counsel, legal consultant, as well as a former prosecutor in Manhattan), and also achieved certified fraud examiner and certified anti-money laundering specialist. Data privacy and data protection (Chief Privacy Officer and Privacy Counsel) expert with vast experience in investigations. Experienced in handling Sarbanes-Oxley violations, SEC Rule 10b-5 matters (e.g, accounting irregularities, revenue recognition and accounting/auditing issues), and whistleblower matters. Experience successfully leading business practices at the Big 4 and other top consulting firms (KPMG, Arthur Andersen, Aon, Kroll and others), in addition to founding a technology company (Precision Discovery) that specialized in big data. Developed an expertise in helping clients mitigate their risks, which ranged from data privacy and data protection, financial, compliance, operational, legal and regulatory. Expertise in U.S, EU GDPR, Asia, Canada and global data privacy and data protection laws. Highly experienced in legal research, legal writing, and handling a multitude of cases. Three year term as an IAPP Advisory Board Member (CIPP/E Exam Development Board) from 2021 through 2023 where I serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to help write the CIPP/E certification exam. In addition, was a November 2019 award recipient of PrivSec 200 (East Coast). Previously served on the Advisory Board of The Sedona Conference. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS- Successfully led a multitude of investigations and other risk mitigation projects throughout the globe, including being court approved to oversee all of the investigations and eDiscovery at post-bankruptcy Enron for 3 ½ years- Attained U.S. Government top secret security clearance (TS/SCI clearance)- Achieved 13 leading professional credentials during career (Esq, CPA, CFE, CAMS, CIRA), including 8 in data privacy and data protection (FIP, CIPP/US/E/A/C, CIPM, GDPR P, GDPR F).
