About Jerry Walter

I have a very successful and accomplished history of management in several environments. I began managing at an early age and learned how to encourage, work bedside and motivate people that worked around me to get the most out of them and give them the sense of pride they deserve in doing any job they do. I enjoyed the privilege of owning my own businesses and my experience as a manager was instrumental in my success. During this time, I served on council as chair of Public Safety and Public Works. I worked with the police and fire departments to improve the environment they work in and to create a better and safer place to live. I worked with the head of public works to develop a crew that worked with a budget and equipment to maximize the taxes paid by residents and was able to use their expertise and abilities to do things that many government agencies wouldn’t even consider trying. I headed a building renovation project with several improvements to the entire facility and utilized the space more efficiently. I also worked closely with other government agencies to accomplish the task of removing storm water drainage from our santitary lines as required by mandates and finished the task on schedule with no tax increases and a minimal surcharge attached with a sunset clause and a budget set to maintain the additional structure needed. I accepted a position as a start up facilities manager taking control of four managed care buildings with approximately 200 rooms. Within five years, all of the facilities were brought in to compliance while updating all of them aesthetically. My experience led me to working with JLL where I continue to acquire the knowledge to move further in my career. I am always looking for ways to increase my knowledge and to use that knowledge to offer value to an employer.I am extremely proud of my accomplishments and I am far from settling for what I have done with the help and support of others. There is nothing more satisfying than working together with a group of people that felt little appreciation and becomes proud of their accomplishments and is recognized by the success they provide. Management is much more than managing.
