Since I been an employment specialist I have truly learned on a daily basic on listen to what the client need to gain successful employment. I have use myself as example on many occasions helping them to make the right choice and to take all positive information you can learn and apply it to find employment. I have reached out to many employers about hiring our clients who have diverse employment barriers and convincing them to give them a second chance. I have help implement new and old training programs for One Stop which included Custodial Training, American Trucking School, Komatsu Forklift Training, Safeway Food Handling Certification, Alcoholic Beverage Certification, Quest CNA Training Program and now Fast Response Phlebotomy Training. I have took my position to another step by teaching the clients to be responsible not just for yourself, but for the employees safety and health that they might be employed by. Some of my other goals is to find more training programs and search for more employers who work with diverse population, base on there skills and abilities and matching them to prospective jobs. To focus more on building strong relationships with employers in the Janitorial/Custodial/Medical Industry, while creating job slots and opportunities for employment ready clients from the homeless demographic.

ABOUT JERRY JONES
As an Assistant Program Manager of Goodwill Industries (STEP-UP Program) I working with Contra Costa County providing services for those who are receiving public assistant through Cal-Works Grant. We help serve about 400-500 individual a year and place them in competitive employment out through the bay area. Our program teaches the individual the designing and implementation of Cognitive Behavior and Job Readiness Training by conducting a curriculum that teaches Career Development, Life Skills Maintenance and Work Ethic. I\'m knowledgeable with the conducting of clients’ sessions for eligible individuals interested in employment services. I facilitate job search as a Job Developer by preparing qualified clients for Careers Employment. With coordinate and co-facilitate (as-needed) by helping the case managers participate in there peer group classes. I perform outreach to reentry persons as an intake counselor and finding alternate training programs that may be use for job placement. At last provided job training and life skills training for willing adults.
