In my role as Vendor partner manager, I manage the relationships between New York Life and key vendors that we utilize for different job functions. Prior to this role, I was a manager and in that role I was responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and developing all new employees for the Member Services department. As the hiring manager, I acted as the first contact with the new hire to the New York Life culture and help to ensure they have a full understanding of our business. I also provided feedback about their performance and helped guide them in their careers with New York Life. In addition, I am also the lead for the Tampa branch of NYL Pride, which is an Employee Resource Group that is geared toward celebrating and embracing diversity for the LGBT community. As the lead for NYL Pride, I am responsible for holding meetings with the group, as well as planning and executing local events, fundraisers and volunteer efforts.
