   SailPoint was founded in 2005 by Mark McClain and Kevin Cunningham who wanted to set up a company that would provide innovative solutions to business problems concerning identity access management. SailPoint Technologies develops identity governance software that integrates role management, access request management, password management, and compliance management solutions to help organizations streamline IT compliance processes and reduce the risks of fraud. SailPoint delivers a traditional on-premise deployment of its solution, called IdentityIQ. SailPoint was also first to market with a SaaS-based Identity Governance and Administration solution, called IdentityNow. Delivering both deployment options provides our customers tremendous flexibility and value. In 2014, SailPoint extended its industry leading governance capabilities to unstructured data. With that, SailPoint is able to provide rich governance capabilities across data sitting in unstructured sources including NAS devices, collaboration technologies such as SharePoint, and cloud storage including Box, DropBox and GoogleDrive.
