ABOUT JEROME W.
I am passionate about attention to detail, facts, figures and data.I always put in 110%, to help streamline business and achieve results. I have had a varied work history but the mentality has always been the same, to work hard, be committed to the end cause, and to think outside the box.My highlights and achievements are: Consolidating, simplifying and improving internal databases and matrix thus making the overall flow of operations in the logistics department more cost effective,as well overseeing, analysing, and advising on correct incoterms used for customers as well ensuring the correct export paperwork was completed and retrieved such as C.M.R\'s,EUR1 and bill of laden documentation at CDT Sidolis of Welshpool.Using AS 400 skills and know how from CDT this helped path the way while working as a Freight Forwarder at Transmec, and helped the Customs Managers streamline this system more efficiently to clear consignments both local and international on Import as well as Export of Road, Sea and Airfreight movements and helped with regards to Maritime Insurance documentation for CHIEF.I have also played a role in winning contracts and maintaining accounts that others simply could not obtain and upon moving over to Northern Ireland progressed quickly to role of account manager for a major logistics company covering all of Ireland, UK and some international shipments.Upon being headhunted for TSS as a Customs Consultant I was able to get back into the world of customs which I knew and loved and brought to the table my knowledge and experience from past roles to understand and interpret the customs jargon to every day traders to help simplify the movement from CHIEF to CDS as well as solve Tier 3 / IOE level queries.Once redundancy was on the table at TSS, like many others I needed to branch out to find my way and I landed on my feet at Ceva applying my expertise particularly when it came to declarations revolving around controlled goods, writing up how to guides for complex issues and every day activities to do with the role as part of end of year tasks and duties. While working at Ceva I have also obtained a Distinction in Level 4 Advanced Customs and Compliance course with the UKCA and am working towards further courses to better develop my customs skills and knowledge. To summarise, I can not only talk the talk like the best of account managers, but can also walk the walk.In my free time however, I enjoy playing strategy games. I have always loved to indulge in strategy and tactics, and incorporate methods used by Sun Tzu.
