ABOUT JERMAL PERKINS
In May of 2021, I graduated from Rockhurst University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English and Communication. I’m very passionate, knowledgeable, and have gained tons of experience in the following areas: 1) Community outreach 2) The ability to communicate in an interpersonal capacity and in cross cultural settings 3) Demonstrate how to listen without judgment 4) Demonstrate how to show empathy to others. My professional experience has provided me with the opportunity to work with a wide variety of individuals in wide range of settings and backgrounds. My other passions are building relationships, fostering peace between diverse communities, and solving complex problems with creativity and positivity. I aim to continue using my knowledge of English language and communication theory strategies to continue helping others. Further more, improving society and relationships. I want to ensure that we all use appropriate communication methods to properly inform, educate, encourage, and support each and everyone. An important question we must answer, what does it mean to be human? “For me, it means to look at another and see yourself to be in relationship in community. It means to treat your neighbor as you would yourself. It means to see no stranger. For we are each other’s keepers.” I live out this truth to ensure that I’m making others feel seen, valued, and appreciated.” I enjoy meeting new people, seeking new adventures, reading books, writing poetry, and traveling. My social justice work looks like being a life long advocate for those on the margins and bringing their stories to the light. I am blessed and proud to say that I have traveled to Canada in 2019 and China in 2018! I live my life by these words from,(Jimmy Valvano): “I urge all of you, all of you, to enjoy your life, the previous moments you have.
