About Jerica Phillips

Jerica Phillips leads communications at Alzheimer’s Association. Driven by a strong belief in the power of collaboration and the strength of teamwork, her ingenuity in various roles has resulted in international earned media placements, enhanced media and social media tonality, and bolstered internal and external sentiment and perception ratings. For more than a decade she served as an anchor and reporter for the NBC affiliate in Memphis (WMC) and is the former Strategic Communications Director at ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also served as Chief of Communications and Broadcast Services at Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS), the largest school district in Tennessee and 23rd largest in the United States. Life as we know it changed around us amid the pandemic — bringing forth the urgency to communicate and tell stories of innovation. Jerica’s more than 15 years of experience integrating multimedia, marketing, social media and PR strategies for a range of audiences has proven to be instrumental.A Memphis native, Jerica earned a Communications and Broadcast Journalism degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and certification in Digital Media Strategy at Harvard Business School Online. Her accomplishments have catapulted her to a position of trust and admiration. Throughout her career, she has unapologetically advocated for equity and access in education and healthcare. From becoming a trusted face in local news to serving as Board President and parent-advocate for the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis, Jerica has consistently used her platforms to uplift others. She is a graduate of the 2021 Executive Class of Leadership Memphis, a Memphis Business Journal \'40 Under 40\' honoree, and a recognized Urban Elite Professional. Through every role, she has demonstrated a rare ability to authentically engage people and uniquely influence stories.In her free time, Jerica enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, eating southern food, and dancing.
