Espacios Abiertos is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization that seeks to create and strengthen mechanisms for civic participation so that the people of Puerto Rico can directly and effectively influence the territory\'s social, political, and economic processes. Our primary means of engagement is through the promotion of transparency and accountability practices in government planning, action, legislation and public assets. To achieve this, we produce and commission analysis papers, communicate best global practices and serve as a watchdog and advocate for public policy and governance. We aspire to an open, transparent, and participatory society that is fairer and more equitable for everyone in Puerto Rico, and which will ultimately drive long-term sustainable progress, as well as social and economic success.
