I have been appointed by the US Secretary of Agriculture as 1 of 14 members of the current Plant Variety Protection Board. In my role, I contribute to the national stewardship of plant innovation by advising on policy, and guiding the administration of the Plant Variety Protection Act. I work alongside other scientific, legal, and industry experts to ensure fair, science-based evaluation of new plant varieties, and to strengthen the intellectual property framework that supports agricultural research, commercialization, and economic competitiveness. My service on the PVP Board reflects my commitment to advancing innovation, supporting plant breeders and researchers, and fostering a robust ecosystem for agricultural discovery and technology transfer.
