Experienced Senior Controls Engineer supporting the design, integration, and commissioning of building automation and energy control systems for performance-based energy retrofit projects under Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs). Plays a critical role in ensuring energy conservation measures (ECMs) are effectively implemented, delivering verified savings and operational improvements in government, institutional, and commercial facilities.Key Responsibilities:Design and engineer building automation system (BAS) architectures to support energy conservation measures such as HVAC optimization, demand control ventilation, central plant upgrades, and advanced scheduling.Develop detailed control sequences of operation (SOO), system layouts, and integration strategies tailored to project scope and M&V (Measurement & Verification) requirements.Program, configure, and troubleshoot various control platforms (e.g, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Trane, Honeywell, Distech, Schneider, Delta) to ensure optimal energy performance and system reliability.Collaborate closely with energy engineers, project managers, and sub-contractors to validate ECM designs, support M&V activities, and commission systems according to project and performance guarantees.Conduct on-site system assessments, retro-commissioning, and functional testing of installed controls to verify compliance with design intent and ESPC contract requirements.Provide technical oversight, quality assurance, and data validation throughout the project lifecycle—from design through post-installation support.Maintain strong understanding of federal and state energy performance contract guidelines (e.g, DOE FEMP), ASHRAE standards, and building codes relevant to BAS and HVAC systems.
